25% of the profits of this amazing sauce are donated to directly help struggling small American farmers.
Beekman 1802 "Mortgage Lifter" sauces contains real heirloom tomatoes. Why "Mortgage Lifter?" Well, that's the name of an heirloom tomato variety bred in the 1930's by a gardener named Marshall Cletis Byles who sold enough of his prize seedlings to pay off his mortgage. Over eighty years later, we decided to develop a line of products that would help other struggling American small farms pay off their debts.
Our 'Mortgage Lifter" Bruschetta topping is made with exactly the same fresh ingredients you would use to make it. Lots of chunks of fresh tomatoes, real olive oil, big pieces of garlic & onion, and freshly chopped basil & parsley. No dried spices here. It's fresh and bright, and is a great start to any meal...simply brush bread with olive oil, toast or grill, and spread with bruschetta. (Though we'll be honest...we've been known to use it over pasta, too.)
