Based on the Victorian-era idea of a butterfly bath (small water vessels nestled among the flower gardens) each one of our tabletop birdbaths is hand-carved and burned by our third-generation stone mason using locally-sourced New York State bluestone. While each vessel is unique depending on the particular source stone, they measure approximately 11 x 11 inches and 4 inches high. Each stone is unique, the well holds approximately 2-4 cups of water.
At a weight of 28 lbs, the baths are easily mobile and can be used as a birdbath, an elegant waterbowl for a small pet, or as a planter for shallow-rooted plants like succulents.
See the video below to take a look at how stone artisan H. Berry hand-crafts each and every one of these unique pieces.
