Lost Christmas Ornaments - "Tin Brilliant" Snow Flake
A Beekman 1802 Exclusive, using 100-year-old original molds! How much do you think we loved finding an almost entirely lost art form right in our own backyard?!?!? Our “Tin Brilliant” ornaments are hand-made on one of the original ornament molds used by Gustav A. Mayer over 100 years ago. While thousands of his famous ornaments were once sold all over the world, few have survived until today. Several of his original molds, however, were miraculously discovered decades later in the drawer of Gustav’s desk just as it was about to be auctioned. Now Bill & Janet Rigby of nearby Cooperstown have these original molds and taught themselves how to re-create the original, brilliant designs. What looks like rubies and jewels are actually faceted embossed tin which is painted to catch the light in an optical illusion. You won't find this ornament anywhere else.
